Introduction

Catalana de Seguretat i Comunicacions, S.L. (hereinafter CSC) is a technology-based company headquartered in Sant Feliu de Llobregat (Barcelona) with over twenty-five years of experience in the design, installation, and maintenance of fire protection, security, and communications systems. Through its central region branch, which operates under the In Genis brand, it extends its operations to the rest of the country.

The nature of our work requires us to handle highly sensitive information on a daily basis: security system configurations at third-party facilities, video surveillance footage, detailed technical blueprints of buildings and infrastructure, personal data regarding employees and client contacts, and contractual documentation that is often confidential. Added to this is the fact that our technicians regularly access client facilities—many of which are publicly owned or highly critical in nature.

For all these reasons, information protection is not merely a matter of formal compliance for CSC; rather, it is an integral part of how we work and of the trust we place in others and that others place in us. An incident compromising the confidentiality of a security installation or the availability of our management systems would have direct consequences for our clients, our reputation, and, in some cases, the safety of individuals.

This Policy stems from that reality and outlines how CSC understands and manages its information security, the commitments it makes, and what is expected of everyone who is part of the organization or works with us.

2. The organization’s mission

CSC’s mission is to provide high-level technological solutions in the fields of fire protection, asset security, and communications, supporting our clients from the initial consultation through to the long-term maintenance of installed systems. We operate on the conviction that a job well done is one where the client has no need to worry about anything once the contract is signed.

In line with that mission, CSC establishes this Information Security Policy as a mandatory document for employees, collaborators, and suppliers. Its purpose is to ensure that the information we handle—both our own and that of our clients—is protected at all times, and that the delivery of our services is not compromised by incidents that could have been avoided.

This Policy establishes the framework ensuring that the access, use, custody, and safeguarding of information assets and security devices are carried out with security guarantees across their various dimensions:

Availability: ensuring that authorized entities or processes can access assets and services when required, ensuring their continuity and minimizing disruptions.

Integrity: ensuring that information assets and device configurations are not altered in an unauthorized manner.

Confidentiality: preventing information from being made available or disclosed to unauthorized individuals or entities—particularly information related to clients, facilities, and data captured by security systems—by restricting access solely to authorized personnel and implementing appropriate protection mechanisms.

Authenticity: ensuring the identity of entities and the reliable origin of data.

Traceability: ensuring that actions can be attributed to the responsible entities.

Specific Information Security objectives at CSC:

Ensure information security and the protection of data captured and managed by security systems.

Formally manage security through risk analysis and treatment processes.

Develop, maintain, and test contingency and continuity plans for critical services (installation, monitoring, and maintenance).

Prevent and mitigate security incidents to the extent that is technically and economically feasible.

Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual requirements, including personal data protection legislation (GDPR and LOPDGDD), private security regulations, and any other mandatory provisions.

Promote awareness and continuous training for all personnel regarding security and cybersecurity.

Foster the continuous improvement of the Information Security Management System (ISMS), adapting it to new threats, technological advancements, and business needs.

Provide the security levels agreed upon with clients and third parties when information assets are shared or transferred.

This Policy shall be approved by CSC Management.

It is mandatory for all personnel, as well as collaborators, suppliers, and subcontractors, who access information or systems under CSC‘s responsibility.

The policy is reviewed at least once a year or when significant changes occur.

It is communicated to all employees and collaborators, and is available to clients and other interested parties.

3. Reduction to these levels will be achieved through the appropriate application of security measures, in a manner that is balanced and proportionate to the nature of the information being processed, the services to be provided, and the risks involved.

All systems subject to this Policy must conduct a risk analysis, evaluating the threats and risks to which they are exposed. This analysis shall be repeated:

On a regular basis, at least once a year.

When the information being processed changes.

When the services or products provided change.

When I change an information system.

When a serious security incident occurs.

When serious vulnerabilities are reported.

The measures adopted to mitigate or eliminate risks must be justified, and in any event, there must be proportionality between them and the risks.

Risk management will be documented in the Risk Analysis and Management reports.

7.3 Personnel management

Personnel-related security is fundamental to reducing the risks of human error, theft, fraud, or the misuse of facilities and services.

All CSC members are required to be familiar with and comply with this Information Security Policy, and it is the responsibility of the Security Committee to provide the necessary means to ensure that the information reaches the relevant parties.

All safety policies and procedures must be regularly communicated to all workers and, where applicable, third-party users.

All CSC members will receive security awareness training at least once a year. A continuous awareness program will be established to cover all members of the organization, particularly new hires.

Personnel responsible for the use, operation, or administration of ICT systems will receive training on the secure handling of these systems to the extent required to perform their duties. Such training is mandatory prior to assuming responsibility, whether for an initial assignment, a change of position, or a change in responsibilities within the same role.

All employees will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement to prevent the disclosure of confidential information. For projects that so require, specific confidentiality agreements will be signed.

Upon the termination of the employment or contractual relationship with employees or external personnel, their access permissions to facilities and information will be revoked, and they will be required to return any information or equipment provided to them for the performance of their duties.

7.4 Professionalism

All personnel—whether in-house or external—associated with CSC’s information systems within the scope of the ENS shall be trained and informed regarding their security-related duties, obligations, and responsibilities. Their activities shall be supervised to verify adherence to established procedures.

The meaning and scope of the safe use of the system will be defined and set out in safety rules to be approved by Management or the relevant higher authority. Likewise, the training and experience requirements necessary for personnel to perform their duties will be determined.

Information system security will be addressed, reviewed, and audited by qualified, dedicated, and trained personnel throughout all phases of the system’s lifecycle: planning, design, acquisition, construction, deployment, operation, maintenance, incident management, and decommissioning.

We will require, in an objective and non-discriminatory manner, that the organizations providing us with services employ qualified professionals and maintain appropriate levels of management and maturity regarding the services delivered.

In addition, a schedule for periodic information security awareness training is established for all job roles.

7.5 Access authorization and control

Digital access control is described in the ENS Manual.

CSC has implemented access control mechanisms for the information system, limiting access to duly authorized users, processes, devices, and other information systems, and exclusively to permitted functions.

The objective of access control to information systems is to:

Prevent unauthorized access to information systems, databases, and information services.

Implement security for user access using authentication and authorization techniques.

Monitor the security of the connection between the CSC network and other public or private networks.

Review critical events and user activities on the systems.

Raise awareness about their responsibility regarding the use of passwords and equipment.

Ensure information security when working remotely.

7.6 Protection of installations

Only authorized persons will have access to the facilities.

CSC has implemented physical access control mechanisms—preventing unauthorized physical access as well as damage to information and resources—through security perimeters, physical controls, and general area protections.

CSC has the necessary protective measures in place to:

Prevent unauthorized access to, and damage to or interference with, CSC’s premises, facilities, and information.

Protect CSC infrastructure by designing protected areas with a defined security perimeter, incorporating appropriate security measures and access controls.
